We are currently looking for a Hotel Chief Engineer for Paphos Area

Position Summary

The Hotel Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing all engineering and maintenance operations. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of all building systems, facilities, equipment, and infrastructure while maintaining high guest satisfaction and compliance with safety regulations and brand standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Maintenance Operations

  • Direct and supervise all maintenance and engineering activities across the hotels.
  • Ensure proper functioning of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, kitchen, laundry, pools, elevators, and fire/life safety systems.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.
  • Respond quickly to emergency repair needs and operational disruptions.
  • Monitor energy consumption and implement energy-saving initiatives.
  • Oversee all hotel and restaurants renovation projects ensuring they are delivered on time and to scope

Team Leadership

  • Lead, train, schedule, and evaluate the engineering and maintenance team.
  • Ensure staff compliance with safety procedures and operational standards.
  • Coordinate with department heads to support daily operations and guest service needs.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Budget & Asset Management

  • Prepare and manage the engineering department budget.
  • Control maintenance costs while maintaining service quality.
  • Source and manage contractors, vendors, and service providers.
  • Oversee inventory of tools, spare parts, and engineering supplies.
  • Plan and execute capital improvement projects and renovation

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of engineering experience in hospitality, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel building systems and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with CMMS/property maintenance systems.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

      Duties and Responsibilities

      • Will act as an assistant to the Waiters and collect food and/or drink orders.
      • Assist Waiters with serving food and/or drinks, if necessary.
      • Assist in serving the food, and beverages as directed by the waiter/supervisor.
      • Carry out duties as directed by the Waiter under the supervision of the Restaurant management.
      • Implement set standards at all times.
      • Strives to minimize breakage and wastage and follows proper procedures when disposing of garbage
      • Attends various training sessions with the aim to further improve his/her level of performance.
      • Helps to set up special events and functions as instructed by the Supervisors.
      • Follows company guidelines regarding uniforms and personal hygiene.

        DUTIES:

        • Follows all company policy procedures regarding the preparation, receipt, storage, and handling of food. Carries out quality control of raw materials and specifications.

        • Full knowledge of the menu, station recipes, production methods, and their presentation according to the company’s brand standards.

        • Problem-solving and handling special customer requests. Knowledge and adherence to meal-preparation procedures for allergies and dietary needs.

        • Ability to complete responsibilities consistently within the timeframes set for achieving the department’s goals.

        • Organizes, guides, and distributes tasks to the team according to daily needs.

        REQUIREMENTS:

        • Good knowledge of Greek and English, both written and spoken.

        • Knowledge of raw materials, recipes, and recipe presentation.

        • Ability to identify allergens in raw materials and recipes.

        • Proper operation and handling of kitchen equipment and machinery.

        • Knowledge and completion of HACCP forms, and familiarity with the ISO 22000 system.

        • Cooking skills: all basic techniques of hot and cold kitchen.

        • Culinary school diploma.

        • 2 years of experience in the position of Chef de Partie. A Marriott experience will be considered an advantage.

            ROLE OBJECTIVES

            The Junior Copywriter will be a key member in Wavemaker Hospitality’s in-house marketing team, creating

            unique, brand-specific content across our entire hotel brands portfolio. This role is about more than just

            writing, it’s about capturing the voice of each brand and translating it into words — clearly, consistently, and

            memorably.

            You will work across multiple brands, learning their DNA and personality, and creating compelling copy for

            advertising campaigns, digital channels, marketing collaterals, creative concepts, and more. You’ll be

            expected to think creatively, research trends and competitors, and contribute fresh ideas that elevate our

            storytelling.

            FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS

            Prime Responsibilities:

            • Immerse yourself in Wavemaker’s hotel brands portfolio, becoming fluent in the tone of voice of

            each brand.

            • Write engaging, brand-aligned copy for marketing campaigns, digital channels, print advertising,

            creative content, and internal communications.

            • Ensure clarity and consistency across all written communications.

            • Help ensure that every piece of copy meets the brand standards.

            editorial, or content marketing (1-2 years).

            • Strong command of both Greek and English, written and spoken. A third language is considered a

            bonus.
