Wavemaker Hospitality, the leading hotel company in Cyprus and Greece, is expanding its operations. We seek to employ the position of Sustainability, Risk and Compliance Lead in the island of Kos for the season 2027.
Position: Sustainability, Risk and Compliance Lead
Locations: Kos
Education Requirements & Skills:
- University Diploma or Degree.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Previous hotel operations experience of 2 years is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Experience, Qualifications & Certification Requirements:
- Background in Food Technology, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
- Experience with management system implementation (ISO 9001, 22000, 14001,45001, Travelife ) is a plus.
- Experience with ESG reporting standards
- Basic training in ISO 9001, 14001 & 22000 management systems
- Internal audit experience and strong auditing skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of local and international health, safety, and environmental regulations is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversees the implementation of the IMS (quality, food safety, environmental, circular economy, ESG & HSE management systems) and ensures that it is constantly reviewed and updated to meet changing needs and requirements.

Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to company policies, processes and procedure, international and legal requirements.

Perform H&S risk assessment, identify potential risks and propose corrective actions or preventive measures.

Lead Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Environmental Management initiatives within hotel based on group guidelines.
- Prepare reports and presentations for management highlighting compliance status, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Carry out daily and monthly duties as per Wavemaker Hospitality group procedures
- Train staff on compliance, food safety, health and safety, emergency, and sustainability
- Responsible for planning, scheduling and implementing team (Sustainability, Food Safety, emergency) and management review meetings.
- Monitor and report on emerging industry regulations and trends to ensure company compliance.
- Prepare hotel for the ISO and other external audits and actively participating ensuring smooth external audits execution and results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and reduce risks.
