We seek a talented individual to join the headquarters accounting team as a Hotel Accountant in Rhodes island .

The Hotel Accountant is responsible for managing the financial operations within the Hotel. This includes overseeing accounting tasks such as financial reporting, day-to-day accounting entries, assessment vs budget and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
    • Reconcile daily expenditures and bank transactions to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Assist in preparing the annual budget and financial forecasts.
    • Monitor actual performance against budgeted figures and identify variances.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to management regarding financial performance and cost control.
  3. Audit and Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with hotel policies and accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
    • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
    • Assist in resolving any audit findings or discrepancies.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in accounting, preferably in the hospitality or hotel industry will be considered an asset.
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
    • Working knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Softone, Entersoft etc).
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
    • Good communication skills, with the ability to work with hotel management and staff.

    • Good knowledge in hotel management systems (e.g., Protel).

      • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Pastry Chef to create and update dessert menus, taking into consideration seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.

                  Key Responsibilities:

                  • Process payroll accurately and on time for all employees across our hotel properties.
