Real Estate Officer

Position: Real Estate Officer

 

Scope of duties

The role is responsible for the oversight, and overall management of the Group’s real estate assets and office facilities. This role involves coordination with external contractors and service providers ensuring efficient, cost-effective and compliant management of real estate assets / office facilities, including compliance with legal and regulatory obligations, coordination of maintenance and refurbishment works, and acting as the liaison between internal departments and external service providers.

 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the construction and/or renovation and maintenance of the Group’s real estate assets, acting as the focal point of contact on behalf of the Owner.
  • Maintains accurate records of all real estate assets, leases, and associated documentation.
  • Manages lease agreements, monitor contract expirations and negotiate renewal terms ensuring timely execution of contractual obligations together with the Legal Department.
  • Coordinates with legal, finance and other internal teams on property-related matters.
  • Liaises with utility providers to manage the transfer, monitoring and timely payment of utility bills.
  • Conducts inspections of properties to ensure maintenance, security and safety standards are met.
  • Coordinates office space planning, refurbishment projects, and relocation activities.
  • Ensures and assists in compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards in all office premises.
  • Assists the Legal Department in preparing and obtaining documentation required for property acquisition, sale, leasing and other property-related transactions.
  • Supports in the evaluation and due diligence processes related to the acquisition of real estate projects.
  • Provides regular reports on real estate portfolio status, project progress, expenditures, and renovation.
  • Ensures and supports the creation of annual budgets related to property management, facility related expenses, construction and renovation activities in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensures implementation of the Group’s Management System and makes suggestions for improvements.

 

Required Qualifications / Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Facilities Management, Business Administration, Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in real estate or facilities management or management of construction or renovation projects.
  • Familiarity with property law and lease administration (knowledge of Cyprus real estate regulations is an asset).
  • Strong organisational and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving.
  • Strong business ethics and compliance essential.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation abilities and leadership skills.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Professional proficiency in Greek and English language necessary.

Junior Software Developer / QA

Scope of duties

The Junior Software Developer / QA supports the development, testing, maintenance, and quality assurance of software applications and systems used across the Group. Working under the guidance of Software Developers and the Head of Software Development, the role contributes to software enhancements, testing activities, issue resolution, and support of existing applications.

The role combines hands-on software development and quality assurance responsibilities, with emphasis on building technical capability, software quality, and understanding of business processes and system functionality.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development, testing, and maintenance of software applications and internal systems.
  • Assists with enhancements, issue resolution, and maintenance activities for existing systems, including Danaos ERP and related applications.
  • Writes clean, well-documented, and maintainable code in accordance with development standards and best practices.
  • Assists with system integrations involving databases, APIs, and third-party services.
  • Works closely with Senior Developers, Business Systems, and Infrastructure teams to understand system requirements and technical constraints.
  • Helps translate business and functional requirements into technical tasks and implementations.
  • •Support deployments, updates and system releases under supervision.
  • Assist in providing user support to internal users and external customers under guidance from senior team members. Learns and applies secure coding practices in line with the Group’s information security policies.
  • Supports digital transformation initiatives, including process automation, reporting solutions, and AI-enabled initiatives where applicable
  • Follows change management, version control, and release procedures.
  • Supports compliance with the Group’s Management System requirements and contributes suggestions for continuous improvement. 

Quality Assurance (QA) & Testing

  • Participates actively in functional, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities.
  • Assists in preparing test cases, test scenarios, and basic test documentation based on functional requirements.
  • Executes test plans for new features, changes, and bug fixes across applications.
  • Identifies, documents, and tracks software defects, ensuring clear communication with developers and stakeholders.
  • Verifies fixes and ensures issues are properly resolved before release.
  • Supports validation of accounting-related, data-integrity, and workflow-driven processes. 
  • Assists in improving testing practices, test coverage, and overall software quality.
  • Helps ensure that changes do not negatively impact existing functionality or historical data.

Required Qualifications / Competencies

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or final-year students / equivalent experience).
  • 0–2 years of experience in a software development role or relevant internship experience.
  • Basic knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g. C#, Java, Python, ASP .Net MVC, VueJS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap).
  • Basic understanding of databases and SQL (MSSQL or similar preferred).
  • Familiarity with software development concepts, APIs, and version control systems (e.g.Git).
  • Basic understanding of software testing concepts, defect tracking, and QA methodologies.
  • Willingness to learn enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, and document management platforms.
