We're looking for a Payroll Professional to join our team in Beverley.  Full-time working is preferred, although part-time applications will also be considered.

What will your days look like?

No two days are quite the same. You'll work with a diverse range of clients across different sectors, helping them manage their payroll responsibilities accurately and efficiently.

Your role may include:

• Processing payrolls ranging from straightforward monthly runs through to more complex payroll requirements.
• Assisting with the setup of new payroll clients.
• Maintaining and updating employee payroll records.
• Processing statutory payments including SSP, SMP and other payroll-related calculations.
• Supporting Construction Industry Scheme requirements where applicable.
• Preparing payroll reports and management information for clients.
• Responding to client queries and providing a professional, helpful service.
• Building strong working relationships with clients and colleagues.

This is a role where you'll be trusted to take ownership, contribute to the success of the team and continue developing your skills.

 

Who we're looking for

You will ideally have a minimum of two years previous experience working within a payroll environment and be confident managing payroll processes from start to finish.

You will also bring:

• A proven track record in payroll administration and payroll reporting.
• Good working knowledge of payroll legislation and processes.
• An understanding of RTI, SSP, SMP, SPP, P45s and auto-enrolment pensions.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to build positive client relationships.
• Experience using payroll software and confidence working across different systems.
• The ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop.
• Sage, BrightPay and Xero experience.

Most importantly, you'll be friendly, reliable, professional and enjoy working as part of a team.

What will your days look like? 

No two days are the same here. You’ll have the freedom to manage your own portfolio and the support of a collaborative, down‑to‑earth team. Your week might include:

• Leading audits for a wide variety of clients - from owner‑managed businesses and groups to UK subsidiaries of international groups, and academies.
• Owning audit planning - scoping engagements, assessing risk, setting materiality and designing testing strategies.
• Attending and leading completion meetings, presenting clear findings and practical recommendations.
• Reviewing work prepared by trainees/assistants and coaching them to develop.
• Delivering non‑audit assignments, including preparation of statutory accounts and corporation tax computations.
• Getting involved in corporate finance and due diligence projects when they arise.
• Rolling up your sleeves for ad‑hoc projects that add value for clients and colleagues.

This is a role where you’ll be trusted to get on with things, encouraged to share your ideas, and supported to develop into the professional you want to be.

 

Who we’re looking for 

You will be ACA or ACCA qualified, or close to qualification, with strong experience in a practice environment. Beyond the letters, you’re someone who loves the buzz of client work and thrives in a fast‑paced, professional setting.

You will also bring:

• Excellent client service and relationship‑building skills.
• Strong technical judgement - applying standards and theory to reach logical, well‑documented conclusions.
• Precision and calm under pressure - able to meet deadlines without losing the detail.
• A collaborative, people‑first approach - supporting your team and leading by example.
• Clear communication - translating complex issues into simple, practical advice.
