2019 Summer Placement Program

Summer Placement Program

KPMG has been running a Summer Placement Program (SPP) for numerous consecutive years. Through the SPP, KPMG in Cyprus offers the opportunity to university students to discover the experience of working in a professional services environment and establish whether this environment corresponds to their personal and career aspirations.

Venue

KPMG’s SPP takes place at our offices which are located all over the island (Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paralimni, Paphos and Polis Chrysochous). Interns are offered positions in the Audit, Tax, Advisory or Central Services functions.

Time

KPMG's SPP runs for 3 weeks on two different periods.

      1st period: 10th June 2019 until 28th June 2019

      2nd period: 1st July 2019 until 19th July 2019

When to apply

We accept applications for our 2019 Summer Placement Program as of the 1st of November 2018 until the 31st of March 2019.

We assess applications on a first-come-first served basis, hence interested candidates are encouraged to apply at the earliest possible.

AUDIT

Trainee Accountant, Audit Department - Nicosia AUDIT

The Role:
We are currently looking to recruit Junior Auditors for immediate employment for our Nicosia offices. KPMG offers exciting professional opportunities in the field of Audit to those interested in completing or beginning their Professional Accounting Qualification (ACA or ACCA). The successful candidates will be working as part of a team on audit engagements.

Senior Auditors, Audit Department - Limassol AUDIT

The Role:
We are currently looking to recruit Senior Auditors for our Limassol offices. The successful candidates will be working as part of a team on audit engagements. They will be responsible for specific sections of the audit as well as act as in charge for certain projects depending on size and complexity of the project. Apart from the technical training, they will also receive on the job coaching on how to enhance his/her competencies and eventually develop into an efficient manager.


The Responsibilities:

Advisor / Senior Advisor, Deal Advisory Department ADVISORY

The Role:
We are currently looking for an Advisor / Senior Advisor that will focus on Real Estate projects to join our Deal Advisory team in Nicosia. The successful candidate will participate in challenging and demanding engagements. More specifically, he/she will perform research, analysis, valuations preparation of reports, and presentations for companies operating in a variety of industries with emphasis however on Real Estate. Our Deal Advisory department focuses on delivering business benefits, and is involved in every stage of the investment property and investment lifecycle, and offers experience in working with all levels of stakeholders throughout the real estate industry.


The Responsibilities:
• Participating in valuations and review of property valuations
• Performing research and analysis
• Compiling or assisting in compilations of financial projections and performing financial analysis
• Preparing reports (feasibility studies, valuations, information memorandums etc)
• Participating in transaction evaluation exercises.
• Assisting in restructuring processes involving real estate

The Individual:
• Bachelor's and / or Master's degree in Management / Development / Valuation of Property or ACA/ACCA or other related field

IT Audit Consultant, Information Risk Management in External Audit Department - Nicosia ADVISORY

The role:

We are currently looking for an IT Audit Consultant to join our Information Risk Management in External Audit team in Nicosia. Senior Advisor / Assistant Manager, Financial Risk Management Department - Nicosia ADVISORY

The Role

We are currently looking for a Senior Advisor/Assistant Manager to join our Financial Risk Management team in Nicosia. The successful candidate as part of the existing advisory team of the Financial Risk Management Department will provide a wide range of advisory services to the Financial Services industry (e.g. Banking, Investment Firms and Insurance) including the following:

  • Credit risk modelling
  • Financial Instruments valuation
  • Technical support in relation to valuation, accounting and regulatory compliance of structured finance transactions
  • Basel III and risk management
  • ICAAP, ILAAP and Recovery Plan preparation and support

The Responsibilities

The job holder will be required either to take responsibility for areas of accounting change, credit risk management, and credit risk modelling as part of a larger - possibly multi-disciplinary - engagement team or to manage small teams carrying out risk engagements. Apart from project delivery responsibilities, support will be given for other aspects of the team's work including sales and marketing, research and development and knowledge management.

The Individual

  • University Degree with grade 2:1 (or equivalent) of any discipline. Mathematics or Actuarial Degree or other quantitative background or Law and compliance background will be considered an advantage.
  • A minimum of 2 years working experience in the Financial Services sector or in the Banking industry or in an advisory or audit firm.
  • Prior experience in a Compliance function within the Financial Services sector and/or

The Responsibilities:
