Themis Portfolio Management Ltd is a specialized servicer of non-performing loans. The company is currently growing and is seeking to recruit a Risk Officer at our office in Nicosia. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Head of Risk.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring and management of all risks to which the Company is exposed and informs the Head of Risk accordingly
  • Participates in the development and update where necessary of risk policies, procedures, and reports
  • Participates in the development of internal procedures for assessing, monitoring and reporting of the Company’s risk profile
  • Analyses data to evaluate current or potential risks or outcomes of business decisions
  • Assists in the review and evaluation of the Company’s Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite Framework
  • Assists in the preparation and submission of the regular and ad-hoc risk reports to the Executive Management and the Risk Committee
  • Monitors the risk profile of the Company and assess it against the Company’s strategic objectives and risk appetite
  • Monitors and analyses macro-economic developments and market trends for risk related matters and identify potential new or emerging risks, as well as cases of increased risks arising from changing circumstances and conditions

 

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Risk, Mathematics or Statistics, Economics, Finance, Accounting or any other relevant background
  • Three to five years of prior experience in the relevant field
  • Master’s Degree will be considered an advantage
  • Proven knowledge and experience with rules, laws and regulations of the Central Bank of Cyprus related to credit institutions and/or credit acquiring companies
  • Excellent analytical skills coupled with the ability to effectively interpret and aggregate large amounts of data and summarize it to key points
  • Knowledge and prior experience in risk analysis and risk metrics

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare regulatory reporting in line with ESMA guidance
  • Prepare reporting required for securitization noteholders
  • Lead and manage the regulatory reporting requirements of securitization structures
  • Liaise with the investor and /or third parties to agree the form of the reporting
  • Liaise with the external system vendor to prepare the specifications of the reporting
  • Use the external system vendor system to identify and obtain the required data
  • Provide assistance when required to the wider Themis team
  • Launch and project manage ad-hoc projects to improve performance

 

Requirements:

  • Responsible for modelling cash flows of an investment opportunity to determine returns and quantify effects of potential risks.
  • Understanding complex capital structures and have the ability to develop customized models.
  • Assisting the team with due diligence to understand key value drivers including supply and demand dynamics and site specific advantages.
  • Responsible for assisting the team in all aspects of financial, operational and physical due diligence including working with third party consultants to understand all the potential risks related to the operation and physical structure of the property.
  • Actively monitoring assets’ financial performance and participating in the asset management process.
  • Actively monitoring and compiling industry, market and asset level data and financial information
  • Help prepare, monitor and update the Company’s business plan
  • Involvement in the preparation of annual business plans and investor presentations
  • Prepare reporting packs for the CEO and the Board of Directors
  • Use data analytics tool to provide insightful analysis in order to improve the Real Estate’s performance

Responsibilities:

Court Duties:

  • Provide testimonies at the Court hearings and follow up all necessary procedures until a court decision is issued.
  • Visit Court on a regular basis for:
  • signing affidavits, for DFAS and debt verifications,
  • obtaining true copies of lawsuits and court decisions,
  • delivery and receipt correspondence to/from law firms.
  • Meeting with opponent lawyers and debtors for issuing consensual court decisions at the presence of the lawyers of the Company.
  • Provide help to the external lawyers for the preparation of a defense for lawsuits against a borrower or against the Company.

Desk Duties:

  • Preparation of reconstructed statements and all other necessary documents such as reproduction statements, rates statements , for hearing purposes.
  • Close co-operation with the responsible Banker / Unit of each case, in formulating the handling strategy of each lawsuit.
  • Meetings with lawyers for preparation of cases prior to the actual hearing date for lawsuits filed against debtors and for lawsuits filed by debtors against Themis.
  • Coordinate other witnesses for their presence at Court.
  • Be updated and implement the regulations and circulars that govern the work of the Department to comply with the Company’s Policies.
  • Undertake any other work assigned by the Enforcement Services Management to the team, to support the Company in the general handling of cases included in their portfolio.

 

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Law or any other relevant background will be considered an advantage
  • Minimum of 1 year of prior experience in a similar position or knowledge of court system rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of banking industry rules and regulations, primarily in the areas of credit or recoveries

  • Assess proposals for foreclosure (obtain/review relevant documentation, assess eligibility to proceed based on legislation and Company internal submission criteria)
  • Preparation of foreclosure proposal forms
  • Prepare reconstructed statements for calculating the demand amount
  • Preparation of foreclosure letters in accordance with the legislation and company regulations and policies.
  • Co-ordinate and follow up of letters servicing to all designated recipients
  • Have close co-operation with the Loan Management Department
  • Ensure that the electronic systems are duly updated with all daily activities
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Property Enforcement Manager, based on the current needs of the Unit
  • Be updated and implement the regulations/procedures/circulars related to the processes of the department
  • Undertake tasks defined by the Enforcement Services Department, in the context of audit, by external consultants or other authorities designated by the Company

 

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Banking or any other relevant background
  • Two years of prior experience in a similar position would be considered as an advantage
  • Knowledge of banking industry rules and regulations would be considered as an advantage
  • Strong commercial awareness, ability to work well under pressure and efficiently manage time and priorities
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and writing
  • Fluency in both Greek and English, written and spoken
