We seek to recruit a full-time enthusiastic and committed Administrative-Accounting Assistant to join our administration team at the American Academy Larnaca, starting immediately.

Duties

  • Student Registration & Scheduling: Handle course inquiries, registration procedures, timetables and maintain accurate class spreadsheets and records on the platform.
  • Data Management: Enrol new students, create lesson plans and prepare attendance sheets when needed; collect and update attendance data from teachers.
  • Invoicing & Financial Administration: Prepare and complete monthly invoicing lists within set deadlines; assist in treasury tasks, including cashier duties and following up on outstanding fees.
  • Customer Service & Communication: Act as the primary contact for parents and students; manage correspondence via phone, email and in-person; liaise between parents, teachers and administrative staff.
  • External Examinations: Manage exam registration processes, including parent communication, form collection and coordination with Examining Boards.
  • Summer School Operations: Support registration, fee collection and parent communication for Summer School programs; maintain accurate student lists.
  • General Administrative Support: Assist with contracts (rentals, advertising, grants), government and scholarship submissions, and other duties as assigned by the Institute Principal, Accounts Manager or CEO. 

Requirements

  • Diploma in Office Administration, Business, Finance or a related field, or LCCI/CAT, or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position.
  • Excellent command of the English and Greek languages, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent computer literacy and Proficient in Microsoft Office and in particular strong Excel skills.
  • Attention to detail with commitment to high quality and accuracy.
  • The ability and willingness to deal with members of the public, parents, students and staff in a pleasant and motivational manner.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of GDPR and other appropriate legal requirements pertinent to post.
  • Commitment to School’s mission statement, ethos and values.

    Duties

    Requirements 

    Education & Experience 

    • University degree or equivalent, certified by KYSATS, in the subject to be taught  
    • At least one year’s experience as a teacher in a secondary school 
    • Relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g. PGCE) will be considered as an advantage 

     

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

    • Knowledge of general principles of teaching (pedagogy), subject specific curriculum design and assessment for learning 
    • Knowledge of the English language 
    • Knowledge of public school lyceum assessment criteria will be considered an advantage (2α & 3η τάξη λυκειακού κύκλου) 
    • Knowledge of GCSE/A Level assessment criteria will be considered an advantage 
    • Ability to identify their own development needs (professional and subject based), take ownership of their professional development and be prepared to improve their teaching practice and knowledge 
    • Ability to communicate information and ideas using verbal, visual and written communication so that others (students and colleagues) will understand 
    • Ability to use Microsoft office suite applications, management information systems (MIS) and training and education applications
