Key Responsibilities
- To provide effective teaching of the highest order for the group(s) of children assigned by the Head teacher
- To oversee the academic, physical, social, cultural, moral and spiritual development of children in the class through pastoral care and guidance
- To administer day-to-day routines, procedures and rules of the school
- To provide a first point of contact for parents of children in the class and provide a link of communication between school and home
Education & Experience
- University degree or equivalent, certified by KYSATS, in Primary / Pre-Primary (EYFS) Education or equivalent.
- At least one year’s experience as a teacher in a Primary / Pre-Primary (EYFS) school.
- Relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g. PGCE) will be considered as an advantage.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups and measurement of training effects.
- Knowledge of the English language.
- Ability to select and use training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
- Ability to monitor/assess performance of students to make improvements or take corrective action.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing so others will understand.
- Ability to use Microsoft office suite applications, management information systems (MIS) and training and education applications

Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Planning: Plan E3 activities covering the full EYFS curriculum, including annual and termly overviews for parents.
- Assessment and Reporting: Regularly assess children’s progress, provide detailed reports to parents three times a year, and keep the Headteacher updated.
- Parent Support: Communicate children’s progress informally each week and conduct appraisals for new admissions.
- Staff Management: Lead performance management for E3 staff in collaboration with the Senior Teacher: EYFS.
- Risk and Resource Management: Oversee risk assessments, resource ordering, and ensure value for money in E3 provision.
Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent is mandatory
- Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Primary Education (EYFS) is desirable (priority would be given to KYSATS recognised Degree holders)
- 5 years of experience within an Early Years Setting, which teaches in English or English & Greek
- Proven experience managing the curriculum within an EYFS setting
- Native standard English Speaker (proficiency in Greek would be an advantage)
- Excellent written English
- Experience of managing safeguarding aspects unique to EYFS aged children and below – intimate care
- Detailed knowledge of the UK Early Years Framework
- Experience managing parental expectations within their child’s first nursery setting
- Proven track record of organisation within the classroom
- Experience managing staff
- Ability to be flexible, work on initiative and deal with whatever the day holds
- Absolute passion for the education of young children
