Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership and management of the Asphalt Business
  • Ensure full compliance with the Quarries Regulations 1999 and all relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation

  • Drive performance across quality, productivity, efficiency, and discipline

This is a role for a reliable and flexible individual who enjoys working in a production environment. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our asphalt plants, helping to ensure production targets, quality standards, and health and safety requirements are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate asphalt plants safely and efficiently.
  • Carry out daily plant inspections and complete operational records.
  • Monitor product quality and report any issues to management.
  • Coordinate with the Weighbridge, Distribution team, and Drivers to meet customer requirements.
  • Ensure adequate stock levels of raw materials for production.
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and housekeeping duties.

Lawrie Demolition has an exciting opportunity for a Demolition Supervisor to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for supervising small to medium-sized demolition projects and managing a team of operatives on site.

Previous demolition experience is essential, and applicants must have a strong practical understanding of modern demolition and recycling techniques. Experience operating small to medium-sized plant would be advantageous but is not essential.

This role would suit a CCDO Topman or Chargehand looking to take the next step in their career. Training will be provided where required. A full UK driving licence is essential, as a company van will be provided.

The position is physically demanding and requires working outdoors in all weather conditions.

You will be responsible for managing site health and safety, including understanding, implementing, and amending RAMS as required. Basic IT skills are necessary to enable email correspondence and the maintenance of site records.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carry out work safely, efficiently, and in line with agreed programmes
  • Supervise small to medium demolition projects and site teams
  • Review and make minor amendments to risk assessments and method statements
  • Ensure all site personnel understand and sign RAMS prior to works commencing
  • Plan and prioritise daily workloads for yourself and your team
  • Allocate tasks, brief teams on targets, programmes, initiatives, and company policies
  • Maximise salvage and recycling of materials at all times
  • Maintain awareness of current legislation, regulations, and industry guidance
  • Undertake general labouring duties and operate plant when required and trained
  • Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times, including specialist equipment where necessary
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional site environment

Skills & Requirements

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
  • Sound understanding of demolition processes, site safety, and regulations
  • Basic knowledge of cost control and budgets
  • Basic IT skills, including use of smartphones/tablets and Microsoft Word & Outlook
  • Good level of physical fitness
  • Willingness to travel between sites and work away from home when required
  • Ability to work in dirty, noisy, dusty, and all-weather environments
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive company image, including keeping plant, fleet, and equipment clean and well presented
  • Right to work in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a variety of Class 2 vehicles, including mixer and tipper trucks
  • Deliver materials efficiently and professionally to customer sites across Scotland
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects or safety concerns promptly
  • Ensure compliance with Drivers’ Hours, Working Time Regulations, and company procedures
  • Load, secure, and operate vehicles correctly and safely at all times
  • Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and care
  • Follow all Health & Safety, Safe Systems of Work, and FEMAS requirements
  • Attend CPC training, toolbox talks, and any required company training
  • Represent the company professionally with customers, colleagues, and site personnel
