We have an exciting new opportunity at PCE for an Operations Support Operative to work as part of our Operations team.

 

The Operations Support Operative will need to be able to complete tasks to a high standard whilst adhering to standard operating processes with stores.

This role will effectively work with the Stores Operations and Construction Site-based teams to respond in a timely manner to deliver operational requests.

The Operations Support Operative will need to accurately pick and distribute items for site. Over time, an understanding of PCE plant and consumable items will be key to this role.

Summary

Contract: Permanent

Location: Tamworth, this role is based at PCE’s Head office in Tamworth Staffordshire, however, will require travel to PCE’s construction sites across the UK, therefore valid driving licence will be required. Roughly 3 days at Head Office, 2 days on Construction Sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities including but not limited to:

 

Stores Operative

·        GRN and distribution of deliveries received to stores

·        Updating systems with GRN evidence

·        Stock control and weekly ordering of consumables and plant equipment

·        Use of PCE systems for ordering site plant and materials 

·        Distribution of consumables to site and recording through PCE systems

·        Processing of returned equipment from site

·        Undertaking stock takes and PI counts on a regular basis

·        Involvement in planning of plant list picking and demob plans

·        General delivery or collection of plant and materials

·        Service and maintenance of plant equipment

·        Checking of LOLER / PUWER / PAT test items

·        Management of COSHH items

·        An understanding of M-Tec and pumping system

·        Demonstrate understanding and ability to follow plant service regimes

  

Safety

·        Responsible for personal Health and Safety at all times

·        Ensure all visitors to stores abide by the H&S rules of the stores area and wear appropriate PPE

·        Ensure all fire escape routes within stores are maintained correctly

·        Daily and weekly check on plant and equipment  

General Duties

·        Ensure building is secure and safe at all times

·        Ownership and responsibility of PCE equipment / tools / vans

·        Assisting with general housekeeping duties for stores and warehouse

·        All other reasonable duties as required by the Company

  ·      Undertaking training when required

The Structural Technician will be responsible for creating 3D models and 2D drawings in the desired software. Models and drawings are to be produced in conjunction with the PCE quotation, scope and deliverables, and also in line with our clients’ requirements.

The Structural Technician must work in accordance with project programmes and budget, whilst updating senior technicians of progress on a daily/weekly basis. Structural Technicians are expected to be point of contact with client team such as Architects and Design Managers for technical aspects pertaining to their work.

All design work carried out, must be done in line with company procedures and delivered on digital platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities including but not limited to:

Design

·         Create efficient and accurate 3D models in chosen software (currently Revit), in conjunction with project specific requirements as well as our clients design intent.

·         Create 2D & 3D drawings for the purpose of manufacturing.

·         Create accurate GA's, layouts, sections, elevations, and details pertaining to project specific requirements and to meet the standards set in the PCE system library.

·         Accurate usage of correct design information on client’s portals.

·         Assist / input into Design program durations where necessary.

·         Provide effective design support to manufacture and construction teams, with prompt, clear responses to all queries and information requests.

Documents & Systems

·         Knowledge of all PCE control documents and ability to raise in a timely manner to protect program and budget, i.e RFI's & DCC's.

·         Accurate usage of PCE digital systems.

·         Ensure control of third parties’ comments on PCE drawings.

·         All other reasonable duties required and instructed by the Company.

General

·         Have a good understanding of the overall project goals and identification of the opportunities available to PCE to offer and deliver the optimum solution.

·         Ensure clear and concise communication in all forms, both internally and externally.

·         Monitor daily tasks and outputs and report as necessary.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS 

·         Relative experience and knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD or chosen software, to produce efficient, accurate and detailed models and drawings.

·         Ability to read drawings and understand information with which to utilize and create suitable models and drawings.

·         Comfortable working alone at times as well as part of a team to deliver aspects of a Design.

·         Ability to liaise with others both internally and externally to gain information where necessary.

·         Knowledge of best practice required and ability to gather information to allow delivery of task.

·         Attention to detail when producing models and drawings.

·         Ability to self-check.

·         Proven record of producing information in line with specification and other control documents.

·         Awareness of time management, to allow design outputs to be achieved.

·         Monitor commercial performance, variations, change control and agreements.

Reporting

·         Report on project status, issues and performance weekly and monthly.

·         Monitor programme logic, milestones and critical interdependencies.

·         Support implementation of performance, productivity and quality monitoring processes.

Quality & Standards

·         Ensure all design outputs meet PCE quality benchmarks.

Quality Control

·         Ensure that onsite grouting processes are followed, and quality of works is to an acceptable standard.

·         Assist grouting teams to ensure product cubes are completed to the desired standard.

·         Create and update the ‘Cube Test Register’.

·         Check the positioning and presence of M&E elements within units.

·         Ensure that the surface finish of units is to the correct specification.

We have an exciting new opportunity at PCE for a Unit Quality Checker to work as part of our Construction team.

The Unit Quality Checker will be responsible for inspecting and measuring finished precast concrete structural element products in situ, ensuring compliance with specifications, tolerances, and finish standards. The role is critical to PCE’s Right First-Time quality culture, supporting efficient handovers and minimising rework and defects.

The Quality Checker will work alongside the Building Handover Manager and General Foreman, providing field-level QA checks, digital records, and feedback into PCE’s Novade system.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities including but not limited to:

Inspection & Measurement

•         Inspect all installed precast elements for geometry, tolerance, alignment, and finish.

•         Use digital and manual measuring tools (levels, gauges, tape) to record compliance.

•         Identify, record, and escalate non-conformances or defects via Novade software.

•         Verify repairs or corrective actions are completed before handover.

Quality Assurance & Reporting

•         Complete Novade checklists and upload photographic evidence.

•         Maintain defect logs and contribute to Unit QA Registers.

•         Support the Handover Manager in producing QA packs and closure records.

•         Participate in daily briefings, QA toolbox talks, and inspection planning.

Collaboration & Support

•         Liaise with Handover Manager, General Foreman, and site operatives to sequence inspections.

•         Attend interface and handover meetings, reporting quality findings.

•         Provide clear feedback to operatives to ensure corrective actions are understood.

•         Support the closure of NCRs and snagging items.

Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities

•         Comply with PCE Ltd Health & Safety Policy, Method Statements, and RAMS.

•         Wear appropriate 7-point PPE.

•         Report unsafe conditions, poor workmanship, or hazards via Novade/Event Log.

Key Interfaces

•         Handover Manager (Stream Lead): Direct reporting and daily coordination.

•         General Foreman: Inspection scheduling and defect resolution.

•         PCE Operatives & Subcontractors: Interface for inspections and snag rectification.

•         Head of Quality / Project Manager: QA performance reporting as required.

     REQUIRED SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS

Essential

·         CSCS card.

·         Experience in construction quality control or inspection roles.

·         Competence in using measuring tools and digital QA systems

·         Attention to detail and ability to identify defects.

·         Strong communication skills to report and escalate findings.

Desirable

•         Experience with precast/insitu concrete or structural works.

•         Previous site-based QA/QC/inspection roles.

•         Familiarity with ISO 9001 QA systems.
