Accounts Executive

Position Summary

A vacancy has arisen for the post of Accounts Executive within BigMat, reporting to the Finance Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing accounting records, ensuring compliance with regulations, preparing management accounts, overseeing accounting operations, analysing financial data, taking a leading role in the auditing processes, and ensuring accuracy of financial information.

 

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

1. Preparing monthly management accounts and other internal financial reports such as 

performance analysis in line with pre-set deadlines

2. Use management accounting techniques to generate data and information relevant to decision-making

3. Correctly applying the latest accounting procedures in line with applicable financial reporting standards (such as IFRS) and relevant legislation

4. Overseeing accounting operations and ensuring the correctness of accounting records and control accounts including cash control and inventory-related records

5. Supervising and assisting the finance team with day-to-day activity including bookkeeping clerks

6. Assisting in treasury requirements of the company including preparing supplier payments

7. Assisting in the preparation of budget financial statements

8. Liaising with external auditors before and during yearly statutory audit

9. Preparing, reviewing, and timely submitting the quarterly VAT returns

 

Level of Education Standard & Experience Required

MQF LEVEL 6 (DEGREE)

LICENCES/CERTIFICATES REQUIRED - Mid-way through the ACCA qualification

YEARS OF WORKING EXPERIENCE - Minimum of two to three years

TYPE OF WORKING EXPERIENCE - Accountant or similar role; retail industry

LANGUAGES- WRITTEN/SPOKEN - Strong written communication skills in English
