Position Summary
Execute and optimise the sourcing and importation of construction materials, ensuring cost-effective procurement, efficient logistics, while contributing to supplier development and business growth.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
1.0) Manage the full procurement cycle for the company’s imports, from supplier enquiry through to purchase order and delivery
2.0) Source and evaluate international suppliers, obtaining and comparing quotations to ensure competitive pricing
3.0) Lead negotiations on pricing, payment terms, and supply conditions, supporting the establishment of long-term or exclusive agreements
4.0) Plan and coordinate international shipments (container loads), ensuring optimal utilisation and cost efficiency
5.0) Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping agents, and suppliers to track shipments and ensure timely delivery
6.0) Manage customs documentation and resolve import-related issues to avoid delays or disruptions
7.0) Monitor and optimise landed costs to support cost-effective procurement decisions
8.0) Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth material flow and alignment with business needs
9.0) Support demand planning by providing input on lead times, supplier capacity, and forward ordering requirements
10.0) Identify and onboard new suppliers and products aligned with the company’s growth strategy
11.0) Maintain structured tracking of procurement activities, supplier performance, and shipment status
12.0) Manage and maintain accurate records of imported packaging materials
13.0) Prepare and submit annual Green MT (packaging waste) declarations in line with local regulatory requirements

14.1) Carry out duties with attention to quality and contribute to the continual improvement of work processes

Level of Education Standard & Experience Required
YEARS OF WORKING EXPERIENCE - 4
TYPE OF WORKING EXPERIENCE - 4 + years’ experience in procurement, sourcing, or import logistics
SPECIFIC WORKING EXPERIENCE - Strong negotiation and supplier management skills, Experience with international trade and container shipments, Commercial awareness with ability to make cost-effective decisions.
LANGUAGES- WRITTEN/SPOKEN - strong communication skills in English
