The Batching Plant Operator is responsible for operating the concrete batching plant efficiently and accurately, ensuring concrete production is carried out in line with operational and quality requirements. The role includes monitoring materials, maintaining production records, carrying out routine checks and adjustments, and supporting the smooth operation of the plant.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the loading of ready-mix concrete trucks and verify concrete batch accuracy.
- Confirm that all batched concrete complies with the required specifications.
- Direct ready-mix truck drivers during the loading process and confirm each vehicle's suitability prior to loading the designated concrete mix.
- Follow filling instructions provided by the Sales Clerk.
- Maintain accurate records of filling and batching operations.
- Regularly operate the standby plant to ensure operational readiness.
- Carry out visual checks on aggregates received and inform the Laboratory Technician when testing is required.
- Carry out routine maintenance work on the batching plant.
- Maintain daily records of concrete output.
- Ensure adequate supplies of cement and aggregates are available for production.
- Make automatic or manual adjustments to batching quantities when required due to changes in materials or concrete quality.
- Support the safe and efficient operation of the batching plant.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in a production, concrete, batching plant or similar industrial environment is considered an asset.
- Basic knowledge of plant operations and routine maintenance.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures.
