Bus Drivers
Cyprus Public Transport is currently looking to hire professional bus drivers, on a full-time or part-time employment basis, for the Nicosia and Larnaca districts.
Role definition and main objective
The Bus Driver shall ensure to professionally and responsibly drive the bus, following the company's policies, and ensuring the health and safety of passengers at all times.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- To carry out the route as per the itinerary and in the expected timeframe.
- To communicate to the Control Room any incidence/problem that was produced during the service.
- To check the technical condition of the vehicle and the equipment on board by means of daily (routine) checks, identifying in the Defect Sheet any possible anomalies/abnormalities.
- To safeguard the passengers’ safety and that of other drivers using the road network.
- To safeguard compliance with the norms and policies for Health and Safety.
Qualifications and Experience
- Professional license (Valid CPC qualification) – Candidates in possession of an EU CPC will have to convert their license to Cypriot. The company will provide guidance and assistance with the transition.*
- Valid “D” category driving license.
- Tachograph card.
- Clean Criminal record from country of nationality.
- Ability to communicate both in Greek and English.

*Due to the prevailing legislation in Cyprus, the prospective driver will not be able to transport passengers until the Professional License is converted from Greek to Cypriot. During this time, the candidate will be assigned other duties, such as transporting buses without passengers for bus repair and/or maintenance purposes, will receive training on the routes/streets of the city in which he will work as well as all Company policies and procedures, or will be assigned other, similar duties as may arise. Throughout this period, the candidate will be a legal employee of the Company with the aforementioned salary and benefits (based on the Collective Agreement).
