Bus Drivers

Cyprus Public Transport is currently looking to hire professional bus drivers, on a full-time or part-time employment basis, for the Nicosia and Larnaca districts.

Role definition and main objective

The Bus Driver shall ensure to professionally and responsibly drive the bus, following the company's policies, and ensuring the health and safety of passengers at all times. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • To carry out the route as per the itinerary and in the expected timeframe.
  • To communicate to the Control Room any incidence/problem that was produced during the service.
  • To check the technical condition of the vehicle and the equipment on board by means of daily (routine) checks, identifying in the Defect Sheet any possible anomalies/abnormalities.
  • To safeguard the passengers’ safety and that of other drivers using the road network.
  • To safeguard compliance with the norms and policies for Health and Safety.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Professional license (Valid CPC qualification) – Candidates in possession of an EU CPC will have to convert their license to Cypriot. The company will provide guidance and assistance with the transition.*
  • Valid “D” category driving license.
  • Tachograph card.
  • Clean Criminal record from country of nationality.
  • Ability to communicate both in Greek and English.

*Due to the prevailing legislation in Cyprus, the prospective driver will not be able to transport passengers until the Professional License is converted from Greek to Cypriot. During this time, the candidate will be assigned other duties, such as transporting buses without passengers for bus repair and/or maintenance purposes, will receive training on the routes/streets of the city in which he will work as well as all Company policies and procedures, or will be assigned other, similar duties as may arise. Throughout this period, the candidate will be a legal employee of the Company with the aforementioned salary and benefits (based on the Collective Agreement).

Electrician

The Role

To carry out preventive and corrective maintenance, servicing, and repairs on electrics/electronics on our fleet of commercial vehicles (buses).

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Diagnostic fault finding on commercial vehicles’ electrical/ electronic breakdowns and incidences
  • Carry out general maintenance, service, and repairs on commercial vehicles’ electrics/ electronics
  • Ensure that repairs carried out on vehicles have followed all safety procedures and are in accordance with ISO and government standard requirements
  • Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and circuits
  • Manage and supervise the work of Semi-Skilled Technicians
  • Ability to perform specialized works on AC systems will be considered an advantage

Qualifications and Experience

  • Technical School or Higher Technical Institute (ATI) or HND Diploma in electronic and electrical engineering
  • 4 – 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience working with Euro 6 engines is highly desirable
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite and of Greek and English language
  • Ability to perform under pressure
  • Energetic and positive team player with strong organisational skills
  • Willingness to work shifts

The Role

Qualifications and Experience

  • 4 – 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience working with Euro 6 engines is highly desirable
  • Experience replacing gear boxes and engines is highly desirable
  • Experience with diagnostic equipment will be considered an advantage

  • Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite and of Greek and English language
  • Ability to perform under pressure

Engineering Technical Office Executive

The Role

The Engineering Technical Office Executive will guarantee the effective performance of all safety policies within the range of the Technical Office as well as assisting and developing on-going and future technical projects.

 Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Creation and reporting of the department’s KPIs.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Technical analysis of workshop consumptions in order to detect potential problems.
  • Development of technical reports for the Engineering Manager and Engineering Director.
  • Create weekly reports on vehicle breakdowns, vehicle maintenance progress, vehicle repairs progress and any other weekly reports requested by the Engineering Manager and Engineering Director.

Requirements:

  • Be in possession of a Bachelor's degree in any Engineering related field.
