Responsibilities:
- Design & Build: Develop robust pipelines to ingest, transform, and manage data for data lakes and data warehouses (DWH).
- Optimize Performance: Create scalable, efficient data architectures to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Analyze & Integrate: Develop data models, SQL queries, and ETL processes to support warehousing needs, complex data analysis, and seamless data integration.
- Advise: Share best practices by leveraging your knowledge of data lake architectures, modern data platforms like Databricks or Snowflake, and industry trends.
- Collaborate: Work closely with the Domain Delivery team to address data-related issues, infrastructure needs, and business requirements.
- Ensure Quality: Maintain data integrity through automated testing, quality checks, and optimization in cloud environments.
- Document: Create comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, data models, architecture designs, and project-specific solutions.
- Learn & Adapt: Stay ahead of technological advancements to continuously enhance processes and outputs.
Requirements:
Technical Expertise
- Strong experience in designing and building pipelines for data lakes and data warehouses (DWH).
- Proficiency in RDBMS (e.g., MS SQL, Oracle PL/SQL).
- Hands-on experience with ETL and BI orchestration tools (e.g., KNIME, Airflow, Alteryx, SAP DS).
- Strong programming/scripting skills in one or more languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Familiarity with open-source BI and data exploration tools such as Metabase, Apache Superset, Redash, Grafana, or Kibana.
- Expertise in modern data platforms like Databricks or Snowflake.
Skills & Attributes
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify challenges and propose effective solutions.
- Self-motivated, well-organized, and proactive in managing responsibilities.
- A keen eye for detail and a passion for building impactful data solutions.
Testing & Documentation
- Experience in ensuring data integrity through automated testing and quality assurance processes.
- Ability to create detailed documentation for data pipelines, engineering solutions, models, and architectures.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or related fields.
- Proven experience thriving in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Experience working on a Pan-Baltic or international level is a plus.
