The Requirements

  • Partly or newly qualified ACA/ACCA
  • Experienced in Audit

The Role

All aspects of running and delivering client audit projects including:

  • Involvement in client acceptance procedures
  • Understanding client’s business
  • Identifying risk matters
  • Planning the audit work required on assignments
  • Execution and finalization of audit work
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of tax issues; assistance in completing client tax returns
  • Assistance on audit work for larger clients
  • Participating in international audit engagements with other BDO Network firms
  • Involvement in supervision of junior staff; reviews junior staff work.
  • Monitoring of budgets and cost controls
  • Mainly reports to managers and partners

The Role

You will be an essential member of our audit team, working closely with the Compliance Department to provide vital support to audit staff and help us effectively serve a broad range of clients by:

  • Carrying out client acceptance, reacceptance, and risk assessment procedures.
  • Gathering KYC documentation to accurately support client profiles.
  • Conducting AML and other compliance procedures as legally required.
  • Understanding and documenting clients' business and economic profiles.
  • Identifying compliance-related risks and providing solutions to mitigate them.
  • Assisting with independence and conflict-of-interest assessments as needed.
  • Executing other compliance-related tasks as necessary.
  • Collaborating closely with the Compliance Department.

Key responsibilities

  • Understand and apply BDO’s methodology, policies & procedures in all tasks.
  • Perform work with diligence and accuracy.
  • Develop technical knowledge and skills, focusing on professional development and successfully passing exams.
  • Build and strengthen soft skills to assist in developing others within the firm and contribute to the firm’s growth.
  • Conduct KYC (know-your-client) and onboarding procedures for new clients, and reapproval/reacceptance processes for existing clients as legally required.Perform client screenings against designated databases, escalating any issues to the Compliance Department.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of AML data and related documentation for all clients.
  • Communicate with clients to update their AML/KYC information as needed.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as filing and organizing KYC documents.
  • Support the audit department by requesting, collecting, and coordinating necessary compliance data and information.
  • Provide support to the Firm’s MLRO & Deputy MLRO when required.

The Requirements

The ideal candidate would be:

  • a graduate or school leaver with a strong academic background in finance, business and/or mathematics subjects, or
  • someone who is currently working in an administration or similar support role in a professional firm or finance/banking environment who is looking for a new career opportunity.

They should also possess the following skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Greek and English languages
  • Ambition and motivation to progress in a Compliance career

The Role

  • Planning and executing audits relating to Information Systems and Information Security, including the identification of IT risks and controls, the development of test criteria, the analysis of evidence and the documentation of observations.
  • Assess controls, processes and policies related to IT and security, identifying deficiencies & developing remediation strategies.
  • Assist in information security & privacy projects related to all domains of information security and data privacy.
  • Assist in a variety of technology-related projects.
  • Perform any other relevant duties.

The Requirements

  • University degree in Information Security/Computer Science or any other relevant field.
  • A relevant postgraduate degree will be considered as a strong plus. 
  • Between 1-3 years of experience in information security and/or IT audit.
  • Prior work experience in an audit firm will be considered as a strong plus. 
  • Excellent knowledge of GDPR.
  • Knowledge of IS/IT control frameworks, professional standards, and leading practices (e.g. COBiT, ISO 27001, NIST, ITIL, COSO).
  • Experience in offensive security techniques will be considered as a plus.
  • Holding or working towards recognized professional certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, CIPP/E etc.) will be considered as a plus.
  • Fluency in English
