The MS SQL Production DBA/Developer will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance and performance of the critical SQL database systems, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of our corporate applications. This is a “hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The successful candidate will work in the DBA team alongside the development team and IT operations to help achieve a state-of-the-art environment that meets current and future business objectives, whilst also ensuring that the Company’s production databases offer the highest reliability and performance possible.

Main Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end
  • Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical Windows clustered production and DR database systems with transactional replication.
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security
  • Apply data modelling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
  • Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
  • Install and configure new SQL Servers
  • Work on advanced T-SQL commands and queries
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours

Requirements:

  • 2 to 3+ years of work experience supporting Enterprise-level clustered Microsoft SQL Server Databases (2012-2016)
  • Experience with SQL backups, restores and recovery models
  • Experience with SQL transactional replication (peer to peer and/or internal)
  • Significant experience in ETL package writing by utilizing SSIS techniques
  • Advanced level of writing stored up processes, construing the query plans, altering the indexes and troubleshooting the performance holdups
  • Ability to perform under tight deadlines and under pressure
  • Team player with excellent communication skills and a 'can-do' attitude
  • Fluent verbal and written English

Beneficial Requirements:

  • MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications
  • Database mirroring/availability groups
  • DWH support and development experience             
  • Tableau or Power BI business intelligence methodologies
  • SSRS report creation and modification
  • MySQL/PostGreSQL experience
  • Forex industry knowledge

Further Info:

  • Working hours are daily 08:30 - 17:30  Monday to Friday 
  • Paid out-of-hours work might be required on Sundays for deployments, maintenance and disaster recovery tests
