  • Skilled in building and integrating RESTful APIs following best practices.
  • Proficient with Git-based version control and collaborative code review workflows (e.g., GitHub).
  • Able to produce clean, maintainable code and work independently when needed.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiar with front-end build tools and frameworks such as Webpack, SCSS, and Bootstrap.

  • Experience with unit testing and code quality tools, and a solid grasp of programming concepts and patterns (e.g., trees, queues, stacks).

The Junior MS SQL Production DBA will be a key member of our DBA Team. This ensures the availability and retention of critical data and the high-throughput and low-latency of our trading systems. This is an ideal role for someone that either has a couple of years of Operational DBA experience, or who has worked as a DB Developer and wishes to move into an Operational Role.

The successful candidate will work closely with the in-house development team and IT operations. They will perform the regular activities of the DB Team, participate in investigations related to incidents, and in changes to reduce IT Risk, and update our hardware and software.

This is a key role in helping our organization to achieve a state-of-the-art environment that meets current and future business objectives, while at the same time ensuring that the company’s production databases offer the highest reliability and performance possible.

Main activities and responsibilities

  • Perform routine DBA activities & service requests.
  • Help manage SQL Server databases across multiple environments
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security
  • Contribute to the development of data warehousing and reporting solutions
  • Participate in the analysis and solution of issues in real time
  • Contribute to the documentation of DB Incidents and take part in subsequent Improvements.

Key requirements

  • BSc Degree in Computer Science, Software engineering or related discipline. A master’s degree will be considered an advantage
  • 1-2 years of Administration of MS SQL Server Databases (2012-2016), either in a Production or Development environment
  • Experience in database installation, configuration, backups and restoration
  • Very good knowledge of T-SQL
  • Ability to work as a team member and ability to work analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Attention to detail and a proactive mindset

Nice to have

  • Practical knowledge of SSIS and SSRS
  • Experience in query performance tuning                             
  • Forex industry and/or Regulatory reporting knowledge
