Minthis Resort is seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient operation of the pastry section, preparing high-quality desserts and baked goods in line with our standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the creation of innovative and seasonal pastry menus, working closely with the Pastry Chef to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
Location: Minthis, Paphos
Responsibilities:
• Adheres to all standard procedures and policies pertaining to pastry preparation, receiving, storage and sanitation and a full awareness of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production, plate specifications and consistency of presentation.
• Creates pastries, baked goods, and confections, by following a set recipe.
• Prepares ingredients and handles baking and other kitchen equipment.
• Ensuring consistency, quality, and artistic presentation of all pastry products.
• Monitors the stock of baking ingredients. Assisting with inventory control, stock rotation, and minimizing wastage.
• Assisting in the creation of new dessert menu items and seasonal offerings in collaboration with the Head Pastry Chef.
• Consults daily with Sous Chef and Head Chef on the daily requirements, functions and also about any last-minute events.
• Makes adjustments to accommodate guests with allergies, food intolerances and other dietary requirements.
• Complies daily with the hygiene, sanitation, HACCP and other applicable local rules and regulations throughout the pastry section of the kitchen.
• Ensures the environmentally friendly disposal and recycling of garbage is carried out in a proper manner and dispose of, under the guidelines set by management.
• Performs any other duties and responsibilities as assigned or as requested by the Management.
Requirements:
• High school diploma.
• Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field.
• 2 or more years’ experience working within the food industry as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or relevant role.
• Good command of the English language (verbal & written).
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.).
• Creative ability with artistic skill in decorating cakes and other desserts.
• Keen attention to detail.
An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate including basic salary, 13th salary, Provident Fund, Full year employment, Overtime Payment, and Public Holidays payment 1-1:5.
