Flight Operations Assistant

TUS Airways is inviting candidates to submit their CV applications for the position of Flight Operations Assistant, based in the beautiful island of Cyprus!

Reporting to the Head of Operations Control, the Flight Operations Assistant is responsible for preparing, controlling, coordinating, and supervising the TUS Airways flight operations, providing support, briefing and assistance to the Commander in the safe conduct of the flight operations.

This position plays a vital role in the achievement of TUS Airways Safety, Security, Compliance and on Time Performance targets.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Must  maintain  knowledge  of  current  TUS AOC  specifications  and  comply  with  such  limitations / conditions
  • Responsible for the overall oversight of all OCC activities during his or her shift
  • Assisting the Commander, in flight preparation, providing operational information, preparing the operational and ATS flight plans, and filing the ATS flight plan with the appropriate ATS unit
  • Providing the Commander, while in flight, with appropriate information that may be necessary for the safe conduct of the flight
  • Analyzing operational conditions and identifying any opportunities that may impede or benefit operational capabilities, including, but not limited to, weather, facilities, Air Traffic Control, and aircraft performance
  • Analyzing operational and meteorological conditions to evaluate and determine the safest and most efficient minimum fuel required for the flight for consideration by the commander
  • Providing, when requested or deemed necessary, the Commander with a thorough and professional flight crew briefing, covering all significant information which may impact the operation of his or her flight
  • Soliciting, interpreting, and maintaining current flight and airfield conditions reports to provide flight crews with the latest operational information
  • In the event of an emergency, initiates procedures as outlined in the CRPM, while avoiding taking any action that would conflict with ATC procedures
  • In the event of an emergency, conveys, by all available means, safety-related information to the Commander that may be necessary for the safe conduct of the flight, including information related to any amendments to the flight plan that become necessary during the course of flight
  • Taking all necessary actions in case of emergencies, accidents or incidents
  • Monitoring the progress of flights, and taking suitable action in case of diversions, flight delays, and unfavourable weather reports at departure and destination airfields, thereby minimising the reactionary effects on day-to-day operations  
  • Updating daily the Crew Flight and Duty time database
  • Informing the Director of Flight Operations, or his or her deputy, of any discretion reports
  • Ensuring that fight following is maintained on the operations of all Company aircraft
  • Monitoring and implementing changes to aircraft mass and balance information in the software database and/or other relevant documents required for flight
  • Ensuring that the flight and crew schedule is in accordance with the Company’s flight time limitations
  • Initial screening of Flight Reports, and taking any necessary immediate action, as required
  • Ensure understanding of, commitment to and compliance with the TUS Safety, Security and Compliance Policy
  • Ensure that all safety, security and compliance requirements are observed
  • Comply with EASA regulations, Cyprus DCA requirements, Company standards and procedures and local laws and regulations in all locations where operations are conducted
  • Provide timely feedback to the organization with regards to any safety or security incidents or accidents, safety hazards or security threats through the Company reporting system
  • Adhere to safety, security and compliance policies and procedures detailed in MSM and Company manuals
  • Ensure compliance of Standard Operating Practices against relevant regulatory requirements and organization’s compliance requirements
  • Commitment to TUS   Air Fatigue Management program and principles
  • Participate in CRPM exercises and deployments as per Company policies and procedures and in accordance with assigned duties as outlined in the TUS   CRPM
  • Any other duty as assigned by the Head of Operations Control

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Working experience as an assistant in OCC activities in commercial air transport; or experience in the airline aviation industry will be considered an asset
  • Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written
  • Computer literate
  • Organizational skills with a methodical and considerable approach to problem solving
  • Must be able to demonstrate understanding of the importance of Safety and On Time Performance, with experience of working under his or her own initiative and under considerable pressure
  • Be a strong supportive team player
  • Have satisfactorily completed all company training requirements as prescribed in OM Part D
  • Have demonstrated proficiency in the performance of the applicable OCC activities
  • After a period of satisfactorily completion of all company training requirements, this role will operate in a shift roster pattern

Aircraft Engineer (CRS B1 or B2)

 Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Undertake projects and tasks related to aircraft maintenance according to their License scope
  • Exercise approval related to tasks and inspection
  • Ensure the completion of high-quality work related to the aircraft, and its components, and complete documentation
  • Ensure that the defects are accurately defined by the crew and rightly recorded
  • Perform in-depth defect troubleshooting and rectification
  • Analyse and interpret any technical information related to the aircraft
  • Read engineering manuals and diagrams
  • Supervise mechanics working under his/her responsibility
  • Work in collaboration with other departments to finish the project work
  • Ensure that facilities, premises, and equipment are maintained to a generally accepted standard
  • Any other task as assigned by the Line Maintenance Manager

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • EASA Part-66 Cat. B1 or Cat. B2 License endorsed with A320 CFM56
  • Optional Type Rating Endorsement(s): A320 V2500/ CFM LEAP-1A/ IAE PW1100G or Boeing 737 NG.
  • 6 months recent maintenance experience in the last 2 years
  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Excellent command of the English and Greek language

Logistics Supervisor

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the duties described below are effectively allocated and performed by personnel assigned with stores duties.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performing and supervising the incoming inspection of Unserviceable and New/ Serviceable parts, supported by a C/S if required
  • Verifying quantities received
  • Identifying shelf-life items at incoming inspection
  • Identifying any storage condition limitations during incoming inspection
  • Matching the accompanying documentation, such as packing slips, invoices, certificates of conformance, work orders, maintenance release tags or purchase orders
  • Verifying the shipping container or packing is appropriate for items received or to be shipped
  • Store customer’s parts in the customer’s storage area
  • Controls and monitors the stock levels, as required by the organization
  • Identifying correctly any damaged, faulty, or out of date items and move them to the appropriate location (quarantine area)
  • Following stock rotation methods to ensure that stock is utilized effectively (i.e. FI-FO)
  • Handle goods using safe handling methods (i.e. ESD)
  • Label and tag stock accurately according to organizational requirements
  • Position stock in the correct locations for further use, and placing the goods so that they can be identified and accessed easily
  • Updating the stock records promptly and accurately after replenishing stock
  • Identifying any problems with keeping stock at the required level, and communicates this to the LMNM for the appropriate corrective actions
  • Maintaining workplace cleanliness and hygiene according to the organizations’ requirements
  • Identifying any hazards in moving or handling the goods, and communicates this to the ESCM for the appropriate corrective actions to minimize any risks
  • Checking that the goods being wrapped or packed match the specifications provided in the certification documents or maintenance data
  • Wrapping or pack the goods using the correct type and quantity of packing materials, and minimise any wastage
  • Disposing of waste materials correctly and promptly
  • Conforming Materials upon successful completion of the incoming or receiving inspection process shall be tagged
  • Ensuring cleanliness of facilities and conformance of environmental limitations for parts storage (stores)
  • Handling any mutilation tasks
  • Proceeding with purchasing process, in close cooperation with the LMNM and TSM
  • Contact vendors to obtain information relative to product, price, and availability of vendor support, warranty, service and delivery dates. Develop and maintain productive supplier relationships, conduct negotiations and identify opportunities for cost savings
  • Foster professional working relationships with suppliers
  • Analyse supplier capabilities and keep files on their best standard prices, adherence to delivery commitments, prior service, best delivery time and support
  • Cooperates with the Purchase and Contracts Supervisor and the TSM
  • Review proposals from several vendors and negotiate with acceptable bidders for contracts, based on price, delivery date, warranty and service, within the set budgetary limits
  • Determine alternate methods of supply when selected vendor indicates inability to perform to schedule or quality
  • Keep records of pertaining to items purchased, costs, delivery, product performance and inventories
  • Parts management and logistics
  • Monitoring tooling calibration and service intervals
  • Coordinating the calibration of tooling and servicing of equipment and toolin
  • Inspect annually the tooling (tools, ground support equipment) for good condition and perform any servicing as required
  • Monitor and oversee the warrantee process when parts are returned to suppliers or vendors
  • Liaise with the MCC for the availability of parts
  • Monitor and replenish the MBK (Main Base Kit)
  • Support with sourcing of parts requested for scheduled maintenance / preloads
  • Coordinate 24/7 coverage for AOG requests
  • Deputisation of the position will be decided by the LMNM

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Degree related to a technical, engineering or other related discipline or logistics
  • Logistics software knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge of English language
  • Training of Incoming Inspection Procedures as per 145.A.42 will be considered an asset
  • Experience in continuing airworthiness or aircraft maintenance environment will be considered an asset
  • Financial knowledge will be considered an asset
