Responsibilities

The Payroll Officer is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of pension payroll for fund members. The role forms part of the broader Accounting team, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and coordinates with internal teams and external partners.

Main responsibilities include:

-Prepare, maintain, and process accurate pension payroll records and reports, ensuring compliance with legal and collective agreements.

-Calculate and distribute pensions, lump sums, and benefits, managing statutory deductions and contributions for Income Tax, GESY, etc.
-Implement payroll system changes and ensure timely preparation and distribution of payslips.
-Implement payroll system changes and handle pension payroll information, including commencements and adjustments.
-Process proportional and widow/orphan pensions, notifying Social Insurance for retirees reaching age 63, and manage actuarial pension letters.
-Maintain accurate payroll records using designated systems (e.g., 3D Pocket Payroll System) and submit necessary tax forms (e.g., IR7, TD59, and TD63) and reports, supporting financial reconciliation.
-Generate payroll-related reports, conduct annual reconciliations, and support pension-related financial reporting.
-Maintain and update pensioner records, processing arrears, benefits, and coordinating with the Health Fund for payment queries.

-Serve as a point of contact for retirees, addressing inquiries and collaborating with other departments for retiree terminations and documentation.
 
Profile of the Ideal candidate
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
-Member of a professional accounting body (ACA/ACCA) will be considered an advantage
-Preferably 3 years of experience in a Payroll position with similar responsibilities
-Good knowledge of Cypriot payroll regulations, taxation, and social insurance systems will be considered an advantage
-Good knowledge of payroll systems, accounting principles, and statutory requirements
-Experience in pension processing, contributions, benefit administration, and payroll administration will be considered an advantage
-Strong attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy in numerical tasks
-Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
-Strong organizational and time management skills
-Ability to work both independently and within a team
-High level of integrity, responsibility, and accountability
-Ability to meet strict deadlines and perform under pressure during peak periods
-Tech savvy- Microsoft Office tools. Experience working with payroll software (e.g. 3D Pocket Payroll System) will be considered an advantage
-Very good knowledge of Greek and English
 
Benefits
The remuneration package will range from €1,500 to €2,100 Gross per month, depending on the
qualifications and experience. The offer will include additional benefits to be discussed and
disclosed at a later stage.

Responsibilities

 

The Senior Accountant supports the Financial Controller in managing the organisation’s financial and accounting operations, as well as strategic planning. The role ensures compliance with accounting and regulatory standards while overseeing core financial processes and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Manage accounting entries and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Prepare and review monthly trial balances for accuracy and completeness.
  • Handles the manual preparation and processing of invoices.
  • Ensure timely entry and electronic processing of payments.
  • Perform follow-up on outstanding invoices to ensure timely collection.
  • Stay informed on legislative changes, especially IFRS standards, to ensure compliance.
  • Liaise with actuaries and respond to guidance from regulatory bodies.
  • Assist in identifying improvements for manual processes within payroll and invoicing functions.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity for financial submissions such as VAT returns.
  • Collaborate and support colleagues where and when needed to achieve departmental and organisational goals.

 

Profile of the ideal candidate

  • University  degree in Accounting or holder of an LCCI Higher Certificate in Accounting (other accounting certificates such as AAT/CAT will be considered an additional qualification)
  • At least 3 years of experience in a role with similar responsibilities
  • Solid understanding of IFRS and current financial regulations
  • Knowledge of pension payroll processes and regulations will be considered as an advantage
  • Prior experience with tax compliance and investment reporting will be considered an advantage 
  • Strong attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy in numerical tasks
  • Very good communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Very good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • High level of integrity, responsibility, and accountability
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and perform under pressure during peak periods
  • Tech savvy – Microsoft Office tools (especially Microsoft Excel) and accounting systems (i.e. E-Soft and 3D Pocket)
  • Very good knowledge of Greek and English
