Responsibilities
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Facilities Supervisor with an electromechanical background to assume responsibility over the supervision of daily safe operations of all campus infrastructure and facilities, with a specific focus on a range of complex electromechanical systems for integration and maintenance purposes. The successful candidate will report directly to AUB Mediterraneo’s Dean of Engineering and Administrative team.
Main responsibilities include:
- Receive all electromechanical systems from the existing contractors (handover process), ensuring that everything is safe and operational
- Exercise considerable autonomy in managing the electromechanical aspects of the campus, making decisions on system implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Develop strategies and plans for the maintenance and optimization of electromechanical systems, ensuring alignment with the University’s objectives and policies
- Oversee and troubleshoot issues regarding all electromechanical systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and water, fire safety, building management systems (BMS), as well as renewable energy systems
- Ensure that all systems comply with local regulations and international standards
- Lead a diverse team of technicians and other maintenance staff, assuming responsibility over the recruitment, training, and professional development of team members, whilst fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. Moreover, set objectives and conducts performance reviews to said team members
- Develop comprehensive documentation and training material on systems operations and maintenance
- Closely collaborate with various parties, including project managers, architects, and engineers within the University’s facilities team, whilst regularly liaising with the facility planning and design unit at the University’s main campus in Beirut
- Coordinate with and oversee the work of external contractors, service providers, and consultants to manage renovations, electromechanical projects, as well as maintenance work
- Work in a hybrid manner with both office work as well as regular on-site visits for inspections, supervision, and coordination of various activities
- Exercise flexibility in relation to working flexible hours including occasional evening or weekends, in order to oversee critical project milestones or to respond to emergencies
Profile of the ideal candidate
- University or Technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience with similar responsibilities, ideally with a focus on electromechanical systems in large-scale projects
- Expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, BMS, and renewable energy systems
- Very good problem-solving and multitasking skills
- Very good organisational and coordination skills
- Very good communication and leadership skills
- Able to work independently as well as within a team
- Very good knowledge of English. Knowledge of Greek or Arabic will be considered an advantage.
